End Flock/ALPR in Mountain View City Council meeting
When: Tuesday, February 24, 2026 starting at 6:30pm
Where: Council Chambers at 500 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041
Who: Residents of Mountain View
What: Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs), often known by a common vendor’s name as “Flock cameras,” are a type of surveillance technology that makes our community less safe. The Mountain View City Council is anticipated to discuss the future of Flock ALPRs in its meeting on February 24. If you live in Mountain View, we encourage you to urge your City Council to terminate the Flock contract and pilot program immediately and permanently by doing any or all of the following. (If you live in another city or an unincorporated area of the county, please contact your relevant City Council or County Supervisor with the same message.)
- Write a letter to your City Council before February 24. You can use Silicon Valley DSA’s letter writing platform or write your own letter and send it by email.
- Deliver public comments in the City Council meeting either in person or via Zoom. Talking points are available upon request by contacting our chapter at https://acluscc.org/contact/.
